The Solheim Cup 2011 on Killeen Castle

The Solheim Cup 2011 will be held on the magnificent Killeen Castle golf course which is designed by the great golfer and legend Jack Nicklaus. The Solheim Cup is a golf tournament for professional women golfers similar to the Ryder Cup with teams representing Europe and United States. The cup is played over three days. There have been 28 matches—eight foursomes, eight four-balls and 12 singles on the final day which is similar to The Ryder Cup system.
 
This year the The Solheim Cup is held in Ireland on the Killeen Castle which is 18 holes course, par 72 and 7677 meters on black tee. Killeen Castle is set on historic grounds with one of the Ireland’s oldest and finest 12 century castle and the course covers over 350 acres. In the 18 holes on Killeen Castle you will find four par fives, ten par fours and four par threes.
